Hawks teams follow the mission of the Pleasant Hill Baseball Association, an organization that believes that all the players should have ample opportunity to play, improve and have a supportive but still competitive platform to become a better baseball pl
Hawks tryouts are in the Fall over two weekend days (typically in October). During the tryouts, players are evaluated by an objective group of PHBA coaches that do not have children trying out for that particular age group. Each player must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to sign in for tryouts and attend a brief pre-tryout parent meeting.
A player’s age is determined by how old they are on or before April 30 of the season they will be playing. If a player wishes to try out for the older division to his appropriate age, he must attend the tryouts for that older age group. If a player wishes to be considered in their appropriate age group as well, he needs to attend BOTH tryouts. As an example, if a 10 year old wishes to try out for the 11-year-old division then the player must attend the older try out. If that player wishes to be considered for younger division should he not be selected by the older team, he must attend BOTH try outs.
At the 9/10 division, 11/12 division and 13/14 division, the player’s parents must consent to the player participating in the older division or team. As an example, if the manager of the 12U team wishes to select an 11 year old for his 12U team, the parents of the 11 year old must approve the change. All participants will be asked to make this designation when signing in on the day of try outs.
